My go to Chinese spot. I had a hard time finding good Chinese food when I moved to Columbus, but New China hits the mark. A small bonus is they are only 5 minutes away! I always order takeout. Dinner for 4 (sometimes 6 lol). Orange chicken, Sesame chicken, lo mein, and 4 egg rolls and white rice. Every time I order it's the exact same taste and quality. I order while I'm on the way to pick up so I can watch the gentleman fire up my order fresh. He's at the wok firing out order after order with mechanical precision. I love that he doesn't measure, he just knows. The amount of orange chicken that he stuffs into the plastic container is amazing. Crispy and well coated with that amazing sweet dark sauce, Orange Chicken is my favorite. Sesame chicken is similar just with broccoli and sesame seeds. The Lo Mein has that char flavor that I love. The egg rolls don't miss either!! And they give you a container of that sweet red sauce that's on the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I know everyone has their opinion when it comes to Chinese. And yeah this is probably Americanized...mall food court Chinese. But when I have the craving for it, I'm not looking for traditional/fusion/fancy $22 an entree Chinese, I want that quantity quality mall food court Chinese lol! Take my word for it. You won't be disappointed. And you'll be shocked at how much you get for the little amount of money you spend. 5 stars ++

Our go to Chinese spot was closed one day so we tried this one and we are so glad we did! Portions are huge, prices are fair, and staff was so friendly!!! We are so happy we tried it and we will now consistently go back! We got the large sesame chicken with white and fried rice! This was enough for 3 or 4 meals each! Couldn't recommend more! Yum!!

My husband and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup and beef lo mein to go. The food was prepared fresh the vegetables on the sweet-and-sour chicken were fresh and crunchy. The beef and the lo mein was very tasty. The wonton soup is amazing. The seasoned meat in the center was phenomenal. The service was all right. The ambience was actually really quiet. I was the only customer in the restaurant, but it was early Sunday afternoon. I would definitely order from them once again.

I think I found my new go-to Chinese takeout place! I ordered the Sesame chicken and absolutely loved it. I debated on upgrading to a large, but decided on the small. I'm so glad I did because even a small is huge!! I can easily make two, maybe three meals out of it. And it was only $8.99! I was nervous that the chicken might be dry or overly fried, but it was delicious. Just the right amount of sauce too. The vegetable rolls have a nice kick because of the horseradish. I really liked them. It's a no brainer - I'll be back many times. For the price and quality, you can't beat it.

Drove north 20 minutes today for one reason: to grab an order of steamed dumplings from New China Express at Sancus/Lazelle near Polaris (They run 4 local locations afaik). I saw pics on the web this morning and decided to giddyup for lunch! The dumps were definitely worth the effort - big and plump with springy outer wrappers, loaded with ground meat and spices. I've been seeking lovelies like these ever since my beloved No 1. Chinese restaurant chain was no longer in Cbus. Dipping sauce was near perfect too. Got a side of Hot n Sour soup, also tasty! But now I know where to get steamed "potstickers" when I crave them.

As someone who grew up in Westerville I've been eating at New China Express for well over a decade. In all of that time I've tried a handful of dishes. Including orange chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried wontons, and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken here is simply unmatched. The chicken is so perfectly battered and fried to the best crispness. The sauce is sooooo thick, red, sweet, sour, everything. It's all I order now after trying other things, it's just perfection. The fried wontons are my favorite appetizer, super crispy exterior with a juicy flavorful filling. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for some great chinese fare.

This still has to be the best Chinese food restaurants on this side of town! One of my favorite stops for lunch during the work week even though they're now closed on Mondays.
